About

Will Mercer is a Kingston-based actor and singer completing a BAH in Drama and English at Queen's University. Born in 2004, Will began his performance career at the Fountain Performing Arts Centre in Nova Scotia, building a strong foundation in musical theatre across a wide range of leading roles before going on to pursue his craft at the university level.

Most recently, Will played Azdak in The Rotunda's production of Caucasian Chalk Circle (November 2025), directed by Greg Wanless. Earlier in 2025, he appeared as Actor U in Love and Information at the Isabel Studio Theatre under director Micheal Wheeler. His 2024 season included a turn as Richard Enfield in Jekyll and Hyde at the Domino Theatre, and the iconic role of Tom Collins in RENT at The Rotunda.

Will's stage work spans classical, contemporary, and musical theatre. He played Mr. Keeney in Funny Girl at the Isabel Studio Theatre, Lancaster Johnson in Say It Ain't So, and Samuel in Pirates of Penzance at The Rotunda. His 2023 showcase in The Last Night at the Cabaret Solitaire — in which he performed the role of Beyoncé — demonstrated remarkable range and commitment to the ensemble.

Earlier career highlights include Wadsworth in Clue, Ram Sweeney in Heathers, and Jimmy/Pete in Almost, Maine — all at the Fountain Performing Arts Centre, where his stage career first took shape. Will was awarded the Eastern Ontario Drama League Award in 2025 and the Queens Commitment Scholarship from 2022–2026.

On screen, Will appeared in Quickly, Slowly for the Robert Pope Foundation (Summer 2025), directed by Doug Pope, and in the student film Where's My Shoes (Winter 2024), directed by Bake Little.

Will has trained with Zoe Sweet and Michael Wheeler at Queen's University, and with Patrick Maubert at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts, where he completed Musical Theatre Intensive and Audition courses. He performs as a bari-tenor and holds additional skills in military drill, movement, improv, choreography, Spanish, and guitar. Videos available on request.
